Editorial on gamification in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine

Dominic King and Ara Darzi from DigitalStitch published an editorial in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine about ‘gamification’. Gamification refers to the process of ‘games with purpose’ that can improve health by integrating software design and game mechanics with public health theory and behavioural insights. The editorial discusses how the latest insights from the behavioural sciences can be combined with mobile phones to change health behaviours. We think gamification using mobile phones is going to become an increasingly popular strategy in public health interventions.
